Waiting In Vain is the seventh track on the acoustic album Oui Can Luv by Andy Allo featuring Prince on acoustic guitar. The track is a cover version of the song written by Bob Marley and performed by Bob Marley and the Wailers, first appeared on their 1977 album Exodus, and also released as a single the same year.
Specific recording dates are not known, but the track is believed to have been recorded in mid-2011 to mid-2012 at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota, during sessions for Andy Allo’s second album Superconductor. No other studio version by Prince is believed to exist, although Allo had previously released a similar acoustic take of the track, accompanying herself on guitar, before joining Prince’s band.
