Fast Car is the first track on the acoustic album Oui Can Luv by Andy Allo featuring Prince on acoustic guitar and backing vocals. The track is a cover version of the song written and originally performed by Tracy Chapman, from her debut album Tracy Chapman (1988), and also released as her debut single shortly before the album.
Specific recording dates are not known, but the track is believed to have been recorded in mid-2011 to mid-2012 at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota, during sessions for Andy Allo’s second album Superconductor. No other studio version by Prince is believed to exist.
