Strays Of The World is the tenth and final track on the second disc of Prince’s 20th album Crystal Ball (his fourth using the name ). Strays Of The World was also included in the 1993 Glam Slam Ulysses stage-show, during two segments, titled “The Ship” (opening the show), and “The Homecoming”.
While specific recording dates are not known, basic tracking took place in mid to late May 1993 at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota (during the same set of sessions that also produced Pope, What’s My Name, Interactive, Solo, and a reworked version of Race).
The Crystal Ball liner notes state that it was "originally intended 4 a Broadway musical"; this most likely refers to the planned Come musical. It was included as the eleventh and final track on a 19 March 1994 configuration of the Come album (credited to Prince instead of ), but was removed for the final configuration.
