Soft And Wet is the first single from Prince’s first album For You, marking Prince’s first ever single. It was released two months after the album, on Prince’s 20th birthday (whether this timing was intentional or coincidental is not known).
The b-side, So Blue, was also taken from the album. The promo release included a mono mix of Soft And Wet, not available elsewhere.
The single reached number 92 on the US Billboard Hot 100 Chart, and number 12 on the Billboard Hot Soul Singles Chart.
Soft And Wet sold 350,000 copies in the USA.
