Seven is the seventh track on Madhouse’s first album 8. Seven was written and produced by Prince (credited only to Madhouse), with saxophone and musical input by Eric Leeds. No musician is credited on the record.
Basic tracking took place on 30 September 1986 at Prince’s Galpin Blvd Home Studio in Chanhassen, Minnesota; It was the sixth Madhouse track from the batch and was therefor initially titled Six but this was changed to Seven after the album was sequenced and it was decided Six and Seven should switch places.
The track contains sampled moans from Vanity 6’s unreleased track Vibrator (also used on Four and later on Orgasm).
